What does the brand say?
“We are delighted to announce the opening of pre-orders in Europe for the LiveWire model on April 15th,” commented Steve Lambert, International Marketing Director. “The model has received unprecedented interest and many people are looking to be among the first owners. We look forward to delivering the first LiveWire models to the lucky owners in the fall. LiveWire is a great new product for the Company that provides an incredible driving experience. We are convinced of the future development of the electric market. »
The LiveWire model represents the future of Harley-Davidson, offering high-performance electric drive, stunning design and unmatched connectivity. LiveWire’s Revelation™ H-D engine delivers extreme power while the ease of use allows the rider to fully enjoy the thrill of riding, the dynamic sensations of acceleration and movement.
LiveWire can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and from 100 to 130 km/h in 1.9 seconds. The high-voltage battery provides a range of 225 km in the city or 142 km on roads and highways, measured using the MIC City and MIC Combined (100 km/h)* range test procedure.
The dynamic behavior of the LiveWire model is optimized by a chassis designed to offer unique handling, optimal control in the city and exhilarating handling on twisty roads. SHOWA® high-performance front and rear suspension is combined with a lightweight, extremely rigid aluminum frame that offers precise and responsive handling, making the LiveWire model exciting to ride in all conditions. Brembo® Monoblock front brake calipers also contribute to precise steering and optimum braking performance.
The LiveWire model is equipped with Electronic Chassis Control (ECC), Braking System with ABS, Traction Control System (TCS) and Torque Slip Control System (DSCS), which manages front and rear brake torque and rear wheel drive torque to provide driver control and balance vehicle performance in a variety of driving environments. The system is fully electronic and uses the latest version of six-axis inertial motion unit (IMU) and ABS sensor technology. The separate functions of the ECC combine to provide more confidence and control for the pilot in particular situations.
The electrical power of the LiveWire model is powered by a number of charging options. A Level 1 on-board charger plugs into a standard 120-volt (or 240-volt) household electrical outlet via a power cord that stores under the motorcycle seat. Level 1 RPH (Range per hour) charging time is 20 km (20 miles) for every hour of charging; the LiveWire model is fully charged overnight using Level 1 charging. You can also use Level 3 Quick Charge or DC Quick Charge (DCFC) to charge the LiveWire model via a SAE J1772 connector (CCS2 – IEC Type 2 charging connector in European and international markets). All Harley-Davidson dealers who will sell the LiveWire model will offer a DCFC public charging station. Level 3 RPH (Range per hour) charging time is 309 km for each hour of charging. This corresponds to a fast DC charge from 0 to 80% in 40 minutes and a fast DC charge from 0 to 100% in 60 minutes.
The LiveWire model is equipped with H-D™ Connect, a technology that provides connectivity to connect the LiveWire owner to his or her motorcycle via smartphone using the latest version of the Harley-Davidson application ™. H-D Connect allows owners to remotely connect to their LiveWire model and display key vehicle health information. It also gives owners the confidence to remotely monitor the safety of their motorcycle, receiving tampering alerts on the H-D application and assistance in the event the motorcycle is stolen.
